Position Title: Senior Oracle Database Administrator
Location: Athlone Onsite
Contract Start Date: 01/12/2024
Duration: 12 Months
Contract Type: Per Day basis, up to 60 days per annum (Freelance)
Job Overview:
The Senior Oracle Database Administrator will play a critical role in the design, migration, and upgrade of the Oracle Database and Middleware software stack. This role involves troubleshooting, database tuning, and mentoring staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of the database systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Facilitation: Achieve project goals as assigned, contributing effectively to team objectives.
- Database Design and Migration: Assist with the design, migration, and upgrade of Oracle Database and Middleware software, including Oracle 12c and 19c.
- Troubleshooting and Tuning: Resolve database problems, perform database tuning, and ensure smooth operation of database systems.
- System Improvement: Identify shortcomings in the database system and recommend improvements to enhance performance and reliability.
- Backup Management: Set up and manage RMAN backups to ensure data integrity and recovery.
- Mentoring: Facilitate skills transfer and mentor staff to build internal capabilities.
- Key Experience/Competencies/Skillsets:

Oracle Migration and Upgrade:
- Proven experience in the migration, upgrade, and installation of Oracle software.
- Specific knowledge of upgrading from Oracle 12c to Oracle 19c.

Oracle Forms/Reports:
- In-depth knowledge of Oracle Forms/Reports, including creation/modification of forms, management of forms server configuration files, and installation of forms.

Oracle Database and Weblogic Server:
- Knowledge of the latest versions of Oracle Database and Weblogic Server.

AIX Operating System:
- Experience with the AIX Operating System.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Over 7 years in a senior Oracle DBA role.
- Certifications: Oracle Certified Database Professional or higher.
- Language: Fluent in English (native speaker or equivalent proficiency).
EU Citizenship or Stamp 4 Visa is a requirement for this position
