Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key areas:
- Health & Safety: Oversee and manage Health and Safety measures across the project.
- Design Review: Assess design drawings, raising RFIs as needed, and participate actively in Design Team Meetings to resolve outstanding design issues.
- Technical Communication: Ensure approved technical submittals are communicated to relevant teams.
- Project Scheduling: Understand the target delivery program, report weekly on progress, and proactively address potential delays.
- Subcontractor Coordination: Manage subcontractors and service providers to ensure testing and commissioning deadlines are met, and monitor quality control.
- Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to Building Regulations, design documents, and relevant standards.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct continuous inspections, resolve issues promptly, and oversee technical submittals, benchmarks, and inspection management.
- DMS and BCAR Compliance: Champion implementation of DMS (Zutec) and ensure BCAR compliance.
- Scaffold Inspections: Conduct scaffold inspections as directed.
- Documentation: Coordinate and update site drawings, records, and quality assurance documents.
- Work Package Management: Manage specific work packages as assigned, including tender pack content, material ordering, and trade coordination.
- Stakeholder Relations: Maintain strong subcontractor relationships to meet project goals on time, within budget, and at high quality standards.
- Temporary Works: Lead the implementation of Temporary Works Management.
- Stakeholder Management: Manage third-party stakeholders like Irish Water, ESB, and local authorities, and support the PM in early engagement.
- Engineering Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop direct reports and engineering team members, fostering a supportive and growth-oriented environment.
- Team Meetings: Chair site and construction team meetings.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Qualifications: HETAC Level 8 qualification in Engineering.
- Goal-Oriented: Proven ability to meet strict time and quality targets.
- Communication Skills: Strong spoken and written communication abilities.
- Detail-Oriented: Methodical, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Team Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively at all levels.
