Head of Accounting – Fluent German & English

Location: Frankfurt (onsite, beside the airport)

Are you a skilled GL Accountant with strong German finance experience? Join a dynamic, international construction and engineering company specializing in large-scale industrial projects.

In this role, you'll oversee all general ledger functions, tax filings, and intercompany reconciliations, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance. As Head of Accounting, you'll also supervise an Accounts Assistant, making this a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of the accounting function in a growing business.

Responsibilities:

• Handle daily bank reconciliations, VAT filings, and tax submissions under HGB.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and oversee depreciation postings.
• Process payroll journals and prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage intercompany balances, recharges, and invoice processing within the group.
• Ensure ledger accuracy, resolving ageing and credit balances.

About You:

• 5+ years of experience in a similar GL Accounting role in Germany.
• Fluent in German and English (both written and spoken).
• Strong knowledge of HGB regulations and tax compliance.
• Proficient in ERP systems and Excel.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff is a plus.
