Communications Lead

12-Month Contract | London, Hybrid | £320 - £350 per day (Inside IR35)

 

Are you a strategic and action-oriented media relations professional with experience in B2B communications? We’re looking for a Communications Lead to drive impactful media relations and public relations campaigns across multiple industries, including Financial Services, Retail, and Consumer Goods. This role sits within a globally recognized consulting and professional services company, offering an exciting opportunity to shape high-profile PR strategies.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute media relations strategies, generating tier-one and trade media coverage in the UK market.
  • Build and nurture relationships with journalists, ensuring the company’s insights gain visibility in key publications.
  • Translate complex industry topics into clear, compelling messaging for external audiences.
  • Lead thought leadership initiatives, positioning company experts effectively.
  • Provide strategic media relations counsel to senior leadership.
  • Manage a Media Relations Specialist and/or agency partners, ensuring high performance and impact.

 

About You:

  • Currently or recently part of a public relations/media relations team in a large organization or PR agency.
  • Proven experience in B2B media relations (B2C experience is a plus, but B2B is crucial).
  • Direct experience working with journalists in the UK market.
  • Strong media relations expertise, particularly within Financial Services.
  • Experience managing people or teams and/or managing an agency.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders.
