Lead Mechanical Engineer

Location: Donegal

Role Type : Day Rate Contract

Project Oversight:
The Lead Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for managing the Main EPC Mechanical Contract and other assigned work scopes. They will oversee contractor activities to ensure compliance with project protocols and statutory safety, health, and environmental regulations. Working closely with the Safety Adviser, EMP specialist teams, and station management, the engineer will ensure quality control, develop and implement Inspection & Test Plans, and monitor project progress. Regular audits and reporting will be required to maintain safety, environmental, and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Essential Requirements:

• Experience:
• Minimum of 3+ years’ post-qualification experience in the power generation industry.
• Proven expertise in planning and executing major power station overhauls, including logistics, procurement, and contractor management.
• Hands-on experience with power plant mechanical equipment, such as pumps, motors, and valves.

Qualifications:

• Engineer-level 8 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (desirable).
• Additional Experience (Desirable):
• Experience with hydro power plant overhauls.
